Spirit of the Pheonix Week

Spr18_SOPW.jpg

The sisters of Kappa Phi Lambda, Xi Chapter invite you to our annual Spirit of the Phoenix Week! Our theme for 2018 is "Embracing Empathy".

What is empathy?
It is the wonderful ability to understand and share the feelings of another.
The friends and strangers that we meet all have incredible stories and diverse backgrounds. We will be celebrating our differences as well as immerse ourselves in to their experiences and learn from them.
Spirit of the Phoenix Week is a week traditionally used to raise awareness for our national philanthropy, CARE, and to educate ourselves and our community on Pan-Asian culture. We want to celebrate the founding week of Kappa Phi Lambda as well as our pillars sisterhood, service, and cultural diversity!

What is CARE?
CARE, our national philanthropy, is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty by empowering women. Women are at the very heart of CARE's community-based efforts to improve basic education, end gender-based violence, provide healthcare and nutrition, increase access to clean water, and expand economic opportunity. CARE also helps people rebuild their lives by delivering emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters.
